Moms Take the Mic at LTYM

Short essay written for Little Rock Family magazine. There were stories and a stage. I wanted in. Little Rock had a team, and we’d been approved to have an official Listen To Your Mother show. Now we just needed people to bring their stories. I wrote this article for LR Family to try and persuade local folks to come and audition by telling one my most embarrassing stories. Read the whole thing here. “What?” I said. “Are you going to tell me what’s wrong with me?” “Absolutely,” he replied. “It’s called ‘Oh my God, I’m pregnant AGAIN.’ You are aware of how this happens, right?”

Book cover design and page layout: A Heart of Gold

Jane was ready to publish her book. I designed te cover, page layouts, and prepared everything for print and e-reader. .Jane Reeves is an international retreat leader, author and mentor in the sacred arts of loving kindness, connection, and joy. When she finished her book, A Heart of Gold, she came to me for a cover design and page layouts for print, as well as formatting her book for Kindle, Nook, and other e-readers. Much of Jane’s work involves her retreats in Italy, where she feels most alive. These beautiful olive branches were the perfect connection woven throughout the book.

    Costumes and Cheap Confessions

Short essay written for Little Rock Family magazine. Little Rock Family asked for a funny Halloween story from my family. We’re never short on stories, so I obliged. I’ve contributed to LR Family several times, and it’s always been a delightful experience. Read the full story here. “For instance, my argument with my husband’s current luchador mask collection is not that he has seven of them already, but that we are actually spending money on a Mexican wrestler’s accessory.”

    Listen To Your Mother

Public speaking / performance, directing, and graphic design as a part of the Listen To Your Mother franchise. Listen To Your Mother was a nationally franchised storytelling stage show. We brought it to Little Rock. From 2007-2017, licensed Listen To Your Mother teams held auditions, gathered sponsorships, partnered with local charities, and directed and produced a 90 minute show featuring true stories written and performed by local authors. National parameters were given for every aspect of the show, and all design assets associated with it. I was involved with LTYM in multiple ways: as a cast member in 2013, as the Little Rock Director from 2014-2016, and as graphic design…

    Core Wellness Site Setup

Copywriting, image selection and design for customizing a Squarespace site for CORE Wellness. CORE Wellness wanted to set themselves apart. CORE Wellness offers many services under one umbrella, and the basis for it all is testing each individual and crafting a plan that works to meet their goals. We chose bright, aspirational photography and a clear, easy to navigate layout that lets users explore their options and schedule appointments. We also wrote copy that is easy to understand while highlighting the unique benefits of their programs – translating dense health and medical writing to simple yet accurate descriptions.

    Tracy Beavers Sales Coach Logo

Logo design for Tracy Beavers, Sales, Empowerment, and Life Coach. Tracy wanted a design that reflected her personality. She is a bright, bubbly, sunshiny person who wanted a logo that expressed both her personality but also her professionalism as a coach. She’s drawn to yellows and blues, so we used those colors and visually represented sunshine in her design.

    Cardinal Counseling Logo

Logo design for Cardinal Counseling, a central Arkansas counseling group. Cardinal Counseling requested a simple, clean logo. The client and I decided to go with cardinal imagery rather than trying to represent therapy visually, since ‘counseling’ is part of the name and because the client picked a cardinal to represent her business for specific, meaningful reasons.
